Is it the clockmaker (Jean-Pierre Leáud) who sets everything in motion? Camille (Lvovsky in her first lead role), an actress in her early 40s whose husband Eric has just left her for a younger woman after 25 years, suddenly finds herself transported back to 1985 and her life as a teenager. Treated like a 16-year-old by her parents, schoolmates, and teachers, she has the body and consciousness of an adult woman. Knowing how things will progress, she attempts to reverse the course of her life, trying to resist Eric's advances and to prevent her mother's premature death. The setting (including 1980s music, clothes and objects) provides comedy, which combines with melancholy. With its alternating tone, the result is a tragicomedy that reflects on the casualties of life and is as entertaining as it is thoughtful. (bik)
